City Of Ember Conflicts
There are two conflicts in the book City of Ember. The first conflict is that the only lights the people of Ember have are light bulbs and they are slowly starting to lose power. The electricians have to find a way to fix the light bulbs. If they fail to fix them there will be no more lights only in the small apartments.
The second conflict is that there were two people who switched jobs without telling anybody. Doon picked messenger and Lina picked pipeworker. Lina has always been hoping to get the job of messenger. The messenger runs around the city delivering messages. Lina was fast so she would be the perfect girl for the job. Doon’s hopes were anything but messenger. When he picked the job messenger he threw a hissy fit. After everybody selected their jobs Lina and Doon switched. Hopefully they don’t get caught and forced to switch jobs.
Those are the two main conflicts in the book City of Ember.
