Jump Ship to Freedom VS The Patriot

Jump Ship to Freedom VS The patriot

The book Jump Ship to Freedom and the movie The Patriot have some things in common but are very different also. The Patriot is mainly focusing on the British VS the Colonists. But in Jump Ship to Freedom it is about a boy and his mother trying to become free after his father was drowned in the war.

Some similarities are that in the middle towards the of the end of The Patriot a slave has done his work for twelve months and has become free from his master. Like when Daniel from Jump Ship to Freedom becomes free from his masters but he had to buy his way out with his father’s soldier notes.  Another similarity is when Daniel lost his best friend his dad, Benjamin the father in the Patriot lost his son Gabriel to his enemy.

Furthermore some differences between stories could be when Gabriel fought in the war he could come back home time to time. But when Daniel went on the boat to New York he wouldn’t see his mom for a long time.

The Patriot and Jump Ship to Freedom are very different but have some similarities. They both share a common theme of bravery.
