Music vs Talking Tones

Author's Note: I am writing this piece to find the mood and tone of two poems and seeing the differences of just saying the poems and singing them to see the different prospective.
Big Yellow Taxi is about how nature was destroyed to put up a city parking lot and the tone is sad. Field Below is about someone who got fields taken away by the city just like in Big Yellow Taxi and the tone is mainly regretful.

I think the purpose of both poems is trying to tell you to keep something for as long and you don’t know what you have until it's gone. The tones of the poems are both kind of saddening and painful. The mood is more drowsy and regretful. When you hear the song its more of a happy sad feeling its more confusing if it is trying to make you feel happy or sad. I think that the tone of the song is more happy than the poem because when it is sung it has a happier sound than just saying it to yourself. This shows us that how you recite the poem could give you a different tone. I think that this helps me realize how to find the tone and don’t just base the tone off how you think it sounds just saying the poem.
